General Translation

You can use the General Translation feature of EasyTalk to translate any phrase from one language to another.

Imagine that you want to translate the phrase, "Where is the bathroom?" from English into French.

  1. Click on the button labeled "General Translation."
  2. Click on the drop box labeled "From" and choose English.
  3. Click on the drop box labeled "To" and choose French.
  4. Click on the text field labeled "Phrase to be Translated" and type in the phrase you wish to translate.
  5. Click on the button labeled translate.

If the phrase is in the database, the results will be displayed below the translate button. If the phrase is not in the database, you will be asked if you want to translate using an online source. Click yes, and the results will be displayed below the translate button.

Categorical Search

You can use the categorical Search feature of EasyTalk to find a phrase you wish to translate based on the situation you are in.

Imagine that you are an English speaker in a French restaurant and want to ask the waiter if something is safe to eat.

  1. Click on the button labeled "Categorical Search."
  2. Click on the drop box labeled "From" and choose English.
  3. Scroll down until you see the button labeled restaurant and click on it.
  4. Click on the drop box labeled "To" and choose French.
  5. Scroll down until you see the button labeled, "Are these snails?" and click on it.

The translated phrase will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
